The Faculty of Chemistry is one of the most important centers of expertise in France in the field of Chemistry.

The UPMC Chemistry Training and Research Unit, known as the "Faculty of Chemistry", currently has 14 research laboratories and 4 research federations, representing approximately 250 permanent teaching staff, 110 non-permanent professors, 150 full-time researchers and more than 250 technical and administrative staff.

The 15 laboratories dependent on the Chemistry department are structured in 4 federations centred around molecular chemistry, materials chemistry, physical and theoretical chemistry and analytical and biological physicochemistry..Chemists also participate in multidisciplinary projects at the physics-chemistry-biology-medicine interface.The doctoral training in chemistry mostly takes place within 3 doctoral schools: physical and analytical chemistry, materials science, molecular chemistry.
The ‘annual chemistry day’ takes place every year, providing an opportunity for staff and students of the Faculty to meet each other and obtain information in the area of science.
